Many centuries ago people used to build castles. They did it for many different reasons. Thanks to them, we can now learn a lot about people living hundreds of years ago, their lifestyles and routines.
1. Castle Hohenschwangau in Germany. This German castle was built in the 19th century and is also known as Schloss Hohenschwangau. The building was used as a summer residence of King of Prussia Maximilian. The castle suffered no damage during the two world wars since it is located relatively far. At present, the building is looked after by Duke of Bavaria Franz, who is the grandson of Maximilian. Each year more than 300 thousand people visit the castle.
